Thursday

Ordinarily me and Thursday are tight.

It’s the one day during the working week that we all get to sloth around at home, sleep as long as we want and not go anywhere if we don’t want to. No preschool. No gymnastics. No responsibilities. It’s traditionally our pyjama day.

But after two weeks of the plague, the whole pyjama day thing is a trifle done. And not going out? Same. And I’m just a teensy bit over it. Which is good, because it means we are all getting better.

BUT. It’s precarious. It’s a delicate, delicate state. And you don’t want to do anything to rock the boat. All it would take is a little bit of activity out there and it could be a big setback in the sick department.  And frankly, I don’t think I have the mental stability for that. So we wait. And I bide my time.

I’m hoping that by tomorrow everyone will be well enough for our traditional Friday.

Gymnastics for Riley while Piper has a snooze on my chest

Coffee (for me) and babycino (for Riley) and banana bread (for Piper) and scones with jam and cream (for me. And Riley gets to steal some cream too)

Ice cream (for Riley)

Sushi (to take home for lunch later on)

And I stock up on wine so I’m set for #drunktweetfriday

Right now, that sounds pretty sweet. And I’m not going to risk us all backsliding into another two weeks of plague sickness by dragging us all out today. And I’m trying not to think about the fact that yesterday when I briefly escaped the house for the Target Toy Sale I missed out. Not on toys. Got those which we are squirrelling away for Christmas. But when I got to our local shopping centre there was nothing open for coffee. DISASTER. When I got home someone on twitter let me know that Max Brenner was open until 10:30pm. MAX BRENNER. Absolutely gutted. And trying not to think about it.

Bring on Friday.

  1. See, this is the problem with children getting older. They start full time school and suddenly, the only pajama day left is Sunday and it’s not quite long enough to recover.
I do hope everyone is better for you to get out of your house tomorrow.

  2. I hope it went well!

It’s always good to have rest day/s or so-called “idle” day…especially with family…but not because of illness. It is always good to be well, up and about. I really hope that plague is out of your home for you to enjoy Friday!
