Big W Has an App, a Toy Spectacular and a Giveaway

There’s an app for that! A phrase you hear all the time but not often when it comes to braving the crowds for the toy sales. But now you will. Big W asked me to check out their new app - not just for toy sales – but very useful for it nonetheless. The benefit of toy sales for most of us is being able to get a jump on Christmas. I can’t tell you the serenity that I feel knowing that I have Christmas presents for the girls and I only need to worry about the rest of the family. Sweet, sweet serenity.  And I’m lucky that my kids are still young enough that their interests don’t change that much in the 6 months between now and Christmas.

Big W are gave me $200 to explore the app shopping heaven, and you can do the same! I have a $200 voucher to give away. You too can experience the serenity.

There are some really cool things about the app. The first is that you can browse through the catalogue and add things to your shopping list. Which will come in handy if you like to focus your shopping on available bargains. But you can also search for a specific item or browse by categories.

And you don’t just have the option of buying the item but you can access online layby as well. I didn’t have an account with Big W but I was able to put in my details easily and make my way through the checkout process very quickly.

Each product has a picture, but it also has a section you can open up with details about the products, specifications and postage.

Not to mention if you are ever in Big W and need a price you can scan it with the app. I know, I’m going into geek overload as well.

There definitely is an app for that and I don’t mind saying it’s pretty awesome.

  6. My daughter made a list … Friends Lego, various dvs, a Table tennis table, some books – Billy B Brown & Dr Seuss, Geleez 3D Butterfly & Rainbow Pack, a pink Razor Powerwing Scooter, some Moshi Monsters… I am grateful for the list as this will make choosing presents easier for her birthday or Christmas and $200 can help achieve some dreams come true … as for me, I would love to settle down with Danielle Steele’s latest book and a cuppa …

  7. Pillow Pet..my darling granddaughter loves to cuddle them and pretend to sleep!

    • Easy as! got my son to flick through the app and pick out things he likes. He is on the autism spectrum and really not that into toys making him very hard to buy for for Christmas. He loves things that glow so the glow dome is certainly on our list!

I love the Leapfrog reading systems because Lily loves to read, I’d love to get her a whiteboard/blackboard but other than that there is not much she needs. I’d probably use the rest of the money to buy a book or two for me (shush!) and then spend the rest on toys to donate to charity.

I love Big W. Last year I did an online layby and had the goods delivered just before Christmas. Did the same thing this year because it’s so easy and I think our closest Big W is a few hours away. As for what i’d buy with the voucher, I’d head first to the books and buy myself some new titles. Then I’d probably get all practical and buy more Christmas presents.

  23. A Buzz Lightyear in the hope that it will stop Mr 3 launching himself off furniture “to finity and on”. Failing that, it will hopefully (at the very least) stop him from feeling the need to draw Buzz “buttons” on himself in texta each day.

  24. I think I just heard my husband cry from across town. He think my shopping is limited to physically being at the store. Not anymore!! Looks like I’ll be able to get the rest of my Xmas layby done from the comfort of my couch! Woot!
Give that Miss 3′s birthday is in january I also use the toy sales to get her Bday pressies taken care of. I’ve spotted an awesome cradle and change table combo in Big W that will be perfect for the Baby Born she’s getting for Xmas.
